Get to know us a little
Kayle Browning
Kayle was born on July 9th, 1992 in Conway, Arkansas where she grew up. She was introduced to a world of competition when she was very young. From the time she was born she was brought along to watch her dad shoot shotguns competitively in a shotgun discipline called Sporting Clays. Just eight short years after that she had a gun in her hands competing herself. She had a lot of success competing in Sporting Clays and was considered “one to watch” even though she was so young. She would give seasoned shotgun competitors a run for their money! Kayle competed in Sporting Clays until she was fourteen years old before switching to a discipline called International Bunker Trap so that she could pursue her dreams of one day being on an Olympic team. Making her first traveling team on Team USA at the age of 15, Kayle knew this was the path she wanted to take. Since making her first team she has set National and World records, won multiple World Cup medals, was the alternate for the 2012 Olympic games, earned two Pan American medals (Silver and Bronze), a CAT Games medal (Gold), and now she is representing her country in the 2020 Olympic Games hosted in Tokyo Japan! She has opened multiple business along the way including an investment company, a digital content creation company, and also runs a successful coaching business where she helps teach the shooting game to youth and anyone interested in improving their game. With all of that going on, she has a lot that she wants to share with people. So that is how this Podcast came to life! Kayle will be taking you along her past journey, current journey, the journey of guests on the show, and plans for the future alongside her co-host and boyfriend, David Radulovich. She looks forward to taking you all along this ride of a crazy and unique lifestyle!
David Radulovich
David was born on March 17th, 1993 in Cleveland, Ohio where he grew up and went to college at John Carroll University. When he was just 8 years old, he went on a family ski vacation to Nemacolin Woodlands in Pennsylvania and accidentally tried Sporting Clays for the first time. Thanks to a great family friend, Larry Orawiec, and the consistent support of his parents, David fell in love with the game at an early age. Soon after that, he met his coach and great friend, Wendell Cherry. At an early age he experienced a lot of success in the shooting sports — being the youngest person to ever win a US Open at the age of 16. This catapulted his shooting hobby into a career. Since then he has won a multitude of titles, including a World Championship, 2 World Cup Championships, 3 Continental FITASC Championships, 4 National FITASC Championships, and 3 US Open Championships. In recent years, David has used his knowledge of the game to find a way to give back — starting a very successful coaching business and even changing the way that shooting instruction is done through his Platinum Program. Apart from the competitive and instructional side of shooting, David is an avid waterfowl and upland hunter and enjoys that as much as anything else. Although most of everything that he does is outside, he has a passion for technology as well, and has always tried to blend the two things together, especially in his teaching. When the idea to start a podcast came up in conversation with Kayle, he was excited to dive in and start!
About Our Podcast
Hey guys, it’s Kayle and David here! Thanks for taking the time to read a little bit about our podcast. When you first read the name “Beyond the Podium”, you might think we’re referring to what comes after success. It definitely can, but we are taking it from a different perspective — looking past the podium and asking the question “What all does it take to be there?”. And we don’t just mean in competitive shooting either. We mean, how do YOU get to whatever your “podium” looks like? Whether that be in life, sports, your career, or just as a person in general.
When we came up with the idea of creating a podcast, we really wanted it to be something that everyone could hopefully benefit from and relate to. You don’t have to be a shooter to listen to this podcast, you don’t even have to be a competitor! Whether you are listening to this podcast to improve your shooting, learn something you may not have known from us or our guest on a topic we’re talking about, or just purely for entertainment purposes — we hope that you enjoy listening as much as we enjoy creating informative and engaging episodes for you!
If you like what we’re doing, help support us by subscribing to us and even consider signing up for our mailing list! Who knows, you could be the next guest on the show!
